The Help Launchpad installation includes .zip files containing a 2.4 MB library directory that contains a Microsoft Visual Basic (VB) application and all necessary VB dlls; an ActiveX control; and the files to be transported into SAP.
Go to the website of your support vendor - the ANCILE Intelligence Hub (https://support.ancile.com) or the SAP Service Marketplace - to obtain the latest Help Launchpad installation files.
Installing Help Launchpad
- Download the install files from the Intelligence Hub to a local machine, network location, or server.
NOTE:
Depending on the launch method you choose, the files may eventually need to be located where they are read-accessible to all users accessing the context-sensitive help in SAP. Refer to Deciding on a Launch Method for more information.
- Perform one of the following:
If You Want To
Then
Install Help Launchpad on a unicode or unicode-ready system
Transport the current Unicode-compliant transport file into your SAP system.
Install Help Launchpad on a non-unicode system.
Transport the current non-Unicode transport file into your SAP system.
NOTE:
The transport file can be found on the Help Launchpad downloads page of your support vendor - the ANCILE Intelligence Hub or the SAP Service Marketplace.
The Help Launchpad transports make use of SAP development namespaces. Namespaces enable customers to implement R/3 enhancements and solutions without having to agree on naming conventions with third parties. ANCILE has exclusively reserved from SAP the /RWD development namespace. The /RWD namespace helps ensure you can deploy Help Launchpad without the risk of name conflicts in your SAP system.
- After the files are transported, the SAP Help Menu and HELP_START function module must be customized as detailed in Help Launchpad SAP Customization.
- If you are using the VB application, copy the entire Help Launchpad folder (rwdhlp.exe, rwdhlp.ini, hlphelp.chm, and the .dll, .tlb, and .ocx files) to a location that is read-accessible to all users accessing the context-sensitive help in SAP. This location can be either a network server or on all users’ local computers. You do not need to copy the SAP transports to this location.
NOTE:
Note the location where you install this library because it is needed later when customizing the executable location in the help server profile as described in. If you are installing the library on all users’ computers, ensure the location is the same on all computers.
