Upgrading The Search Server (Version 4.2 Or Earlier Versions) NOTE: Upgrading the search server is a four-step process: uninstalling the Autonomy IDOL server, installing the Common Apache Solr server, verifying the Solr service is running, and reindexing the Server. Select Start > Control Panel. Select Administrator Tools. Select Services. Select AutonomyDISH. Select Stop the service. Select AutonomyIDOLServer. Select Stop the service. Select Start > Run. Enter CMD. Press Enter. Enter cd [searchserver root]\DISH. Press Enter. Run the command AutonomyDiSH.exe -uninstall. Press Enter. Enter cd ..\IDOL. Press Enter. Run the command AutonomyIDOL.exe -uninstall. Press Enter. Select Start > Shutdown. Select Restart from the drop-down list. Navigate to the Autonomy folder in Windows Explorer. Delete the Autonomy folder. Install the Common Apache Solr server as per the instructions in Installing the Common Apache Solr Search Server. Upgrade the software as per the instructions in Upgrading the Software (Version 4.2 or Earlier Versions). If you are installing the Server and the Common Apache Solr Search Server on separate machines, configure your system per the instructions in Configuring the Search Server in a Multi-Tier System.
