NOTE:

When editing the header/footer, it is recommended that a test publish be performed to see how the header/footer appears on published output. Based on the header/footer and page settings selected, the header/footer may print outside the designated space. If this occurs, it is recommended that you adjust the header/footer settings. For example, the width/height of the page, margins, and font size can cause the header/footer text to print outside the designated area.

From the Editor, open the new template.
Click the Blocks tab.
Click Manage All Blocks in the Task Pane.

Complete/review the following fields:

Field	Description
Default Recorder Step	Select a step type from the drop-down list.
Name	Displays the name of the block that contains boiler-plate text.
Type	Displays the type of information in the block.

Perform any of the following options:

You can also right-click on the block to display a menu of options.

Modify a block

Select the block you want to modify.
Click Modify.
Go to the next step.

NOTE: You can also double-click on the block.

Duplicate a block

Select the block you want to duplicate.
Click Duplicate.
Select a Language from the drop-down list.
Enter the Name of the block.
Click OK.

Delete a block

Select the block you want to delete.
Click Delete.
Click Yes.

Perform any of the following options to modify phrases for the selected block:

Add a custom phrase to use for the block name	Click Select Phrase. Click Add.... Select a language from the left. Enter the text in the Content field. Click OK.
Select a phrase to use for the block name	Click Select Phrase. Select a Language from the drop-down list. Select a Phrase from the listbox. NOTE: You can also enter text into the Phrases field to perform a search. Click OK.

Edit/review the following fields:

Modify the text within the curly braces, as needed.

Mirrored View

Select this option to view the content area in mirrored justification.

Perform any of the following options to modify the content for the selected block:

Modify the format of displayed block text	Highlight the text to be formatted. Click Format. Select from the Edit, Format or Justify options.
Insert an image, table, weblink, or line at the cursor location in the displayed block text	Click Format. Select from the Insert options.
Modify the layout of an image	Click on the image you want to modify. Click Format. Select Edit Image. Select Left or Right from the Layout drop-down list. Click Insert.
Insert a phrase or standard document property code at the cursor location in the displayed block text	Click Insert. Select from the Phrase.. and Document Code.. options.

Edit/review the source content of the block in the Source field.

Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required.
Review the This item is used by the items below area to determine where the block is used.
Edit/review the following fields in the Format Document area:

Style

Select a style from the drop-down list for the block when used in a Document.

Visible

Select this option to display the block in published documentation.

Edit/review the following fields in the Format Simulation area:

The Simulation area does not display for all block types.

Style	Select a style from the drop-down list for the block when used in a Simulation.
Visibility	Select the mode option(s) to display the block in published Simulation modes.

Edit/review the following fields in the Format Note area:

NOTE:

The Note area only displays for note block types.

Field	Description
Icon	Select the icon to display beside the note.
Pointer	Select this option to enable a pointer in published output.
Display Highlighted Area	Select this option to display the highlighted area for the note.
Border Color	This field only displays if Display Highlighted Area is selected. Select a color from the drop-down list or click Select to use the color picker.
Border Size	This field only displays if Display Highlighted Area is selected. Select a border size for the highlighted area.
Fill Color	This field only displays if Display Highlighted Area is selected. Select a fill color from the drop-down or click Select to choose a custom color.
Transparency	This field only displays if Display Highlighted Area is selected. Select a transparency for the highlighted area.
Display Delay	Select the wait time before the note is displayed.
Duration	Select the amount of time the note is displayed before it is removed from the screen. NOTE: The timing required to display all of the content in the step will be used. Refer to Default Publication Settings: Simulation: General Settings to check the Playback Timer value. NOTE: You can also use filters to highlight steps with note duration longer than step duration. Refer to Specifying Filter Options for more information.
Entry Animation	Select an animation method used to make the note visible on screen.
Exit Animation	Select an animation method used when the note is removed from the screen.

Select File > Save to save the template.
