You can host simulations and courses on the Server or in your LMS, and access them using your SCORM or AICC-conformant LMS.
NOTE:
|
If the content does not contain an assessment, only the completion status will be captured.
|
NOTE:
|
If you are hosting and accessing content on the Server, you cannot track AICC on the Server. You must use the SCORM solution.

Hosting courses and simulations in your LMS
Perform the following steps to publish your content locally and upload it into your SCORM or AICC-conformant LMS.
- Ensure the Create package option is selected within the template.
- Ensure the correct version of SCORM or AICC is selected.
- Check the template and simulation(s) and/or course(s) into the Server.
- Publish the simulation(s) and/or course(s) locally.
- Locate the SCORM- or AICC-conformant .zip file in the published folder.
NOTE:
|
The publishing process will create a [your file name].zip file in one of the following locations depending on your document type:
- [applicationdirectory] Courses: [your file name]\course\html\
- [applicationdirectory] Simulations: [your file name]sim\html\
|
- Provide the .zip file package to your LMS administrator for upload according to the appropriate LMS specifications.
Hosting courses and simulations on the Server
Hosting content on the server allows you to manage content on the server while still accessing the content through your LMS.
- Package Exchange Notification System (PENS) - The PENS standard eliminates the manual steps formerly required to transport content between the Server and your LMS, and creates a communication link that ensures seamless integration between the Server and your LMS.
Using PENS to access courses and simulations through your LMS
Perform the following steps to publish your content locally. PENS automatically sends it to your SCORM or AICC-conformant LMS.
- Ensure an LMS connection has been established within the Server.
- Ensure the Create package option is selected within the template.
- Ensure the correct version of SCORM or AICC is selected.
- Check the template and simulation and/or course into the Server.
- Publish the simulation and/or course locally.
NOTE:
|
PENS automatically sends the content package to your LMS.
