Introduction to Searching
There are two types of search capabilities: searching within content in the Editor and searching the document library on the Server. Both search functions are available from the Editor workspace.
In addition to basic search functionality, there is a find and replace feature to allow you to easily locate and change text within your content.
Executing a Search
- Create or open content.
- Click .
- Select the Find tab.
- Enter the search text in the Find field.
- Optionally, click Options to expand and collapse additional search criteria.
- Optionally, click Find whole words only to search for an exact word, or click Match case to search for words using case sensitivity.
- Click Find Next.
- To find additional instances of the search text, click Find Next.
- Click Cancel to close the window.
Using Find and Replace
- Create or open content.
- Select .
- Select the Replace tab.
- Enter the search text in the Find field.
- Enter the replacement text in the Replace with field.
- Optionally, click More Options to expand and collapse additional search criteria.
- Optionally, click Find whole words only to search for an exact word, or click Match case to search for words using case sensitivity.
- Click Replace to find and replace the next instance of the search text, or click Replace All to find and replace all instances of the search text.
- To find additional instances of the text, click Find Next.
- Click Cancel to close the window.
Performing a Quick Search
- Create or open content in the Document view.
- Enter Ctrl+F.
- Enter the search term in the Find field.
- Optionally, click Find whole words only to search for an exact word, or click Match case to search for words using case sensitivity.
- Click Next.
- Repeat Step 5 to find the next instance of the term.
- Click the red X to close the window.
